Abstract

PURPOSE:To provide the titled repellent harmless to human body, effective especially to cockrosch, and useful as aerosol spraying, by mixing a solution obtained by filtering ethanol immersed with chopped SENBURI (Swertia japonica), with D-camphor and cassia oil, and adjusting the ethanol concentration within a specific range. CONSTITUTION:The objective agent is prepared by (1) immersing 0.5-1.5pts. of chopped SENBURI in 100pts.wt. ethanol, leaving at rest for about 2 days, and filtering to obtain a solution, (2) mixing 100pts. of the solution with 4-10pts. of D-camphor and 0.3-1.5pts. of cassia oil, and (3) adjusting the concentration of ethanol to >=80%. The repellent prepared for aerosol can be sprayed with a mannual spray only by adding a proper amount of water to the solution and shaking the mixture. It is harmless to man and animal, and can be sprayed directly on tableware, skin and children's toys. It kills slug by spraying thereto, and suppresses and cures the itchiness rapidly by applying to the part bitten by vermin.
