Abstract

PURPOSE:To make hard-to-dissolve polyacrylamide easily soluble by controlling the moisture content of polyacrylamide to a specified range. CONSTITUTION:The moisture content of polyacrylamide is controlled to 15- 60%, more preferably, 30-50%. The moisture is required to be distributed uniformly over the entire part of the polyacrylamide. To prepare a polyacrylamide flocculating agent, for example, powdery polyacrylamide is dissolved in water and is dried until the above-described moisture range is attained or the moisture is controlled in a drying stage in the process producing polyacrylamide. As a result, even if the polyacrylamide flocculating agne is put into the polluted water to be treated directly, the agent does not lump and dissolves successively from the surfaces; therefore said agent is usable as it is satisfactorily without using agitators and special dissolving vessels used in the prior art.

Therefore, in order to dissolve conventional substances, high-speed stirring is performed using an IctJ stirrer, and a special 1. Although a power source is required to operate the agitator, for example, many places such as landfill sites do not have these power facilities, so it is often virtually impossible to use it. The present invention was completed as a result of repeated research.
Polyacrylamide is a white powdery substance.

In such a state W, when dissolved in water, as described above, it becomes lumpy and has a drawback of extremely poor solubility.

The present invention reduces the moisture content of polyacrylamide to 16-60%.
, preferably tL< is adjusted to between 30 and 50 degrees O, and it is necessary that this water is uniformly distributed throughout the polyacrylamide. In order to prepare a small polyacrylamide flocculant of the present invention, for example, powdered polyacrylamide may be dissolved in water and dried until the moisture content falls within the above range. Alternatively, moisture may be adjusted in the drying step in the polyacrylamide manufacturing process.

In particular, it is possible to process items molded into plate, spherical, or columnar shapes. The molded polyacrylamide flocculant can also be used by connecting it in a string shape with a string or the like and suspending it in water. In yet another embodiment, the polyacrylamide flocculant of the present invention may be placed in a net-like structure and suspended in the polluted water to be treated in the same manner as described above.

For example, the polyacrylamide of the present invention can be dissolved simultaneously with other flocculants and molded. Even if the polyacrylamide flocculant of the present invention is directly put into the polluted water to be treated, the surface does not become lumpy. Since it is sequentially dissolved from the beginning, it can be suitably used as it is without the need for stirring equipment or special dissolving equipment as in the past.
