Abstract

PURPOSE: To prepare a pharmaceutical preparation which releases its effective component rapidly, by forming a mixture of a composition containing the effective component and a powdery CMC-Na prepared by a specific treatment.
CONSTITUTION: Fibrous or nonfibrous CMC-Na having a substitution degree of 0.4W2.0 is slurrified in an aqueous medium. The slurry is adjusted to pH 2W5 with a mineral acid (pref. hydrochloric acid) and washed until the pH of the liquid reaches to 6W7. The medium is evaporated and the residue is heated at 120W200°C. The heat treated CMC-Na is crushed to obtain white powder of heat-treated CMC- Na having a bulk specific volume of 1.8W3.4cc/g and a particle size distribution corresponding to the residues on the Tyler-42 mesh, 200 mesh and 325 mesh sieves of 0, ≤50wt%, respectively. The white powder is added as a disintegrant to a composition containing the effective component, and formed to the desired form such as tablets, granules, etc.
