Abstract

PURPOSE:To automatically work both sides of a lens in series, by attracting and removably supporting the lens with a lens holder then constituting the lens holder detachably from holder arms. CONSTITUTION:At transfer of a lens, an opening-closing pawl of transfer arms 21 is engaged to a stopper part 6, while an air suction and discharge means is inserted into a hollow part 7 to suck air, and a lens 15 is stored and attracted in a lens storage part 2 of a holder. Then the opening-closing pawl is removed from the stopper part 6, if the suction and discharge means is switched to a discharge, the lens 15 and lens holder are detached from the transfer arm 21. And if the suction and discharge means is used for discharge under a condition the opening-closing pawl is stopped to the stopper part 6, only the lens 15 can be detached. In this way, the lens is suitably transferred and arranged between a supply position A, work position B and transfer position C, and both sides of the lens can be worked in series.

In the conventional automatic lens polishing device, the holder has a concave portion on the bottom surface of a substantially dish-like shape, and a disk-shaped glass bootta, that is, an unpolished lens (hereinafter simply referred to as a lens), is glued or press-fitted into the concave portion. It was held in place by frictional force. For this reason, automation of polishing one side was easily possible, but after polishing one side, a step of removing the lens from the holder is required in order to polish the other side. Since it is very difficult to perform this detachment process automatically, it has not been possible to realize a device that can automatically polish both sides in a series.

FIG. 1 is a bottom view of an embodiment of a lens holder according to the invention, and FIG. 2 is a sectional view taken along line A-A1 in FIG. Figure JI', No. 2 @c The item 1 is a generally dish-shaped main body, and the lower surface thereof is provided with a housing part 2 from which a cylindrical glass block (hereinafter simply referred to as a lens) to be polished can be taken out. The lens contact surface and peripheral portion of the accommodating portion 2 are made of cloth, rubber, polyurethane, etc. The lens holder is made of sheet 3, Delrin,
A pad 4 made of resin such as nylon is provided to prevent damage to the lens. The upper part of the main body 1 has a bottomed hollow cylindrical part 5.
is provided protrudingly, and a groove is carved on its outer peripheral surface to serve as a locking portion 6 of the transfer arm. The hollow part 7 of the bottomed hollow cylindrical part 5 can be inserted with the tip part (not shown) of the suction/exhaust means, and the center of the bottom N8 is coaxial with the center of the main body 1. A bearing part (here, a conical recess) 9 that receives a pressure shaft for pressing the lens together with the holder against the tool.
A center bushing 10, which is separate from the main body 1 and can be replaced when worn out, is embedded therein. The hollow IS
7 and the lens accommodating portion 2 are communicated with each other through a communication hole 11, and the upper opening 12 of the communicating hole 11 is provided at the bottom 8 of the direct hollow portion, and the lower opening 13 is provided at four locations in the lens accommodating portion 2. It is being In addition, the lens holder sheet 3 has the lower opening 1
The lens 15 is provided with an annular groove 14 that communicates with the lens 15 to increase the suction force.
This stabilizes the adhesion of the lens to each part on average. The lens contacting surface of the lens accommodating portion 2 is shown as a concave surface, but it may of course be a convex surface depending on the lens to be polished. Next, an embodiment of an automatic polishing apparatus using the above lens holder will be described with reference to FIGS. 5 and 6. Figure 5 shows the present invention [
FIG. 6 is a schematic cross-sectional view of an automatic polishing apparatus using a lens holder according to the present invention, and FIG. 6 is a schematic plan view. The three transfer arms 7 to 21, which are at an angle of 120° to each other, are connected to the locking portion 6 of the transfer arm provided on the tip 22C of the lens holder 23. (not shown) and a tip (not shown) of the intake/exhaust hand. The lens supply position A is equipped with an automatic lens supply device 24, the processing position BC is equipped with a polishing tool 25 having a spherical surface of a predetermined curvature, and the lens placed at the transfer position C is turned upside down. The lens is then moved to a lens supply position for the next step (not shown), that is, polishing of another side. A pressure shaft 26 is provided on the tool 25 so as to be movable up and down, and presses the lens 15 via the lens holder 23 with a constant pressure. To explain the basic operation of the lens holder used in the above-mentioned automatic polishing device, when transferring the lens, the tip 22 of the transfer arm 21
When the opening/closing claw provided in the locking part 6r engages with the locking part 6r, and the tip of the suction/exhaust means is inserted into the hollow part 7 of the hollow cylinder □ part 5 and air is taken in, the lens 15 is moved into the lens housing part of the lens holder 23. The lens holder is accommodated and suctioned into the sheet 3 so as to be in close contact with the sheet 3. Then, when the opening/closing claw is opened to remove it from the locking part 6 and the suction/exhaust means is evacuated, the lens 15 and the lens holder 23 are detached from the tip 22 of the transfer arm 21. Furthermore, when the opening/closing claw remains locked to the locking portion 6 and the intake/exhaust stage is evacuated, only the lens 15 is removed. Next, the fifth and sixth lenses using the lens holder according to the present invention
The operation of the polishing apparatus shown in the figure will be explained with reference to FIG.

Then return to step (1) and continuously polish one side of the lens automatically. In step (3), the lens transferred from the transfer position after being turned from front to back is transferred to another one by an automatic polishing device (not shown) C similar to that shown in FIGS. 5 and 6. Since one side is automatically polished, a system is completed in which both sides of the lens are automatically polished in series using two automatic polishing devices. Fig. 3 is a bottom view of another embodiment of the holder for holding a lens according to the present invention, and Fig. 4 is a bottom view of another embodiment of the holder for holding lenses according to the present invention.
-A+ sectional view is shown. In this embodiment, unlike the embodiments shown in FIGS. 1 and 2, a hollow cylindrical portion with a bottom is not provided in the upper part of the main body 1, and the locking portion 6 is provided on the outer periphery of the main body 1. Further, the groove 14 provided in the lens receiver sheet 5 is provided in the shape of a cross. Note that the same symbols as in FIGS. 1 and 2 represent equivalent parts. The lens holder is sheet 5 [The groove 14 provided can be of various types, such as a combination of multiple concentric circles and a cross shape,
Further, instead of a groove, the lens receiver may be provided with a hole in the sheet 3 having a shape substantially the same as or larger than the opening 13 on the lower surface. Also, the locking part 6
is a groove carved in the outer circumferential surface of the main body 1 or the outer circumferential surface of the bottomed hollow cylindrical portion 5, but conversely, it may also be a groove 1 formed so as to protrude from the outer circumferential surface, or it may be a groove carved in the inner circumferential surface of the hollow portion 7.・Zhou Il!
It is also possible to use a groove carved into the surface or a protruding pot. Further, the lens holder according to the present invention can be applied to various systems other than the automatic polishing apparatus shown in FIGS. 5 and 6.
