In recent years, severe damage to pine trees has been rampant in most areas of Japan except Hokkaido and Tohoku (excluding some prefectures). It is well known that the cause of such pine blight is the correlation between the pine nematode and the pine beetle. (abbreviation)) can be considered.

Various methods have been proposed to control this longhorn beetle, and some have been implemented, but one method that is particularly effective in terms of practicality is the combination of an insecticide and an attractant. .

This method involves treating pines or shrubs within a certain area around a longhorn beetle attractant installed in a forest area with insecticide, and then treating the area where the attractant and insecticide are combined to treat the area where the attractant is applied. They are scattered throughout the forest according to their attracting ability and attracting range in an attempt to wipe out all the longhorn beetles that are attracted to them. According to this method, all the longhorn beetles concentrated in the attractable range of the attractant can be brought into contact with the insecticide and killed, and furthermore, the insecticide can be sprayed over a small area, which is very economical and reduces environmental pollution. It can be said to be an ideal means of protecting pine trees, as there is no problem of chemical damage to humans or livestock.

However, this method has the disadvantage that there is a difference between the residual effectiveness of the insecticide and the persistence of the attractant, and the attracting ability of the attractant disappears in a relatively short period of time. In other words, due to the nature of the attractant, the attracting ability at the time of installation decreases significantly over time, and the attractant must be frequently replaced with a new one during the remaining effectiveness of the insecticide (this is a hassle). .

Therefore, if the attractive force of the attractant is sustained over a long period of time to match the residual effectiveness period of the insecticide, there will be no need to replace the attractant frequently.

Furthermore, the fact that the components of the attractant are uniformly stable and difficult to volatilize seems to be related to the lack of sustainability of the attractant effect. That is, commercially available attractants for longhorn beetles are prepared by dissolving a mixture of benzoic acid, eugenol, pine oil, α-pinene, pine resin extract, etc. in a volatile solvent such as an alcohol-based solvent, and then It is packed together with absorbent cotton in a small can, and when used, the can is opened to expose about 1 cIn of absorbent cotton and the drug ingredients are volatilized. However, due to the physicochemical properties of drug components, components with high vapor pressure or low boiling point evaporate from the absorbent cotton surface in order, so there is a tendency for drug components to not evaporate uniformly and stably, especially benzoic acid. may crystallize on the absorbent cotton surface, making it impossible to achieve uniform transpiration.

1: Therefore, the present invention aims at 11: When carrying out the method for attracting and killing longhorn beetles by using the above-mentioned insecticide and attractant in combination, the attractant is stored, the drug component is uniformly volatilized, and the attracting effect is stabilized. The purpose is to provide a device that can last for a long period of time.

FIG. 1 is an exploded view of the parts of the device of the present invention, and 1 indicates a drug storage container, which is a cylindrical container with a diameter of 1501 nm and a height of 75 mm, with an opening 2 having a diameter of 50 mm approximately in the center of the top surface. Conditions apply. 3 indicates the evaporation cylinder, which is a cylinder with a diameter of 50cm and a length of 125cm with both ends open. The inside of the cylinder is filled with absorbent cotton 4 as a drug absorbing material up to a height of 75cm from the bottom end of the cylinder. A space 6 is left at the top. Several semicircular notches 6 with a diameter of about 10111111 are provided at the lower end periphery of the evaporator cylinder 3.

When assembling the device of the present invention, first, the drug storage container 1
After putting a predetermined amount of attractant into the container through the opening 2 of the container, the evaporation tube 3 is inserted into the container through the opening 2 and pushed until the lower end of the evaporation tube reaches near the bottom of the container. As in the illustrated embodiment,
If the notch 6 is provided at the lower end of the evaporator 3, the lower end of the evaporator 3 may be in contact with the bottom of the container 1, but if the notch 6 is not provided, the lower end of the evaporator 3 may be in contact with the bottom surface of the container 1. container 1
If a slight gap is not left between the cotton and the bottom, there is a risk that the drug will not be absorbed effectively into the absorbent cotton.

The apparatus of the present invention thus assembled has an appearance as shown in FIG.
The lower end of the evaporator tube is located near the bottom of the drug container, the upper end of the evaporator tube projects above the top surface of the container, and absorbent cotton 4 is filled in the evaporator tube so as to leave an upper space 5.

As a result, the attractant in the container 1 is transferred to the absorbent cotton 4 due to capillary action.
It is sucked upward through the absorbent cotton and vaporized from the surface of the absorbent cotton. The vaporized drug component temporarily accumulates in the upper space 6 within the evaporator cylinder, and then diffuses into the atmosphere from the open upper end of the evaporator cylinder. For this reason, the surface of the cotton pad can always be kept moist.
Uniform and constant evaporation of drug components can be achieved, resulting in a sustained attraction effect.

In addition, the vaporized attracting component temporarily accumulates in the upper space 5 inside the evaporator cylinder, and the attracting substance composed of multiple components becomes a uniform vaporized mixture i here, and then is vaporized from the open upper end of the evaporator cylinder. Since it transpires and is entrained in the atmosphere, the attracting component can be spread over long distances.

As can be seen from the above, in the apparatus of the present invention, the upper space 5 within the evaporator cylinder plays an important role as a part where vaporized components accumulate. The dimensions of this upper space inside the evaporator are not necessarily constant depending on the length and diameter of the evaporator, as well as the type of attractant, and generally speaking, the larger the diameter of the evaporator, the larger the The shallower the space, the greater the amount of vaporized components evaporated.
