Detailed Description of the Invention In internal combustion engines, covers that do not require particular strength, such as side covers that block the working window formed on the side wall of the crank chamber or bonnets that cover the upper part of the cylinder head, are usually thin. Since they are made of lightweight materials such as steel plates and aluminum castings, they vibrate themselves and generate noise, and the covers are usually provided with an outlet for discharging mist from the crank chamber, etc., to block internal noise. Therefore, the covers are an obstacle to the soundproofing of the engine.

In addition, the conventional mist outlet mentioned above has a complicated structure, resulting in poor productivity, and the ability to remove oil components in the mist is not sufficient, resulting in contamination of the area around the outlet or increased consumption of lubricating oil. There was a drawback.

The present invention was made in view of these circumstances.
By creating a gap on the entire inside surface of the cover where the mist outlet is provided and pasting a fibrous soundproofing material, the vibration of the cover itself is damped and the noise inside the engine is absorbed, making the engine quieter. At the same time, this prevents oil components from being discharged from the mist discharge port.

Reference numeral 4 denotes a fibrous soundproofing material such as felt or glass wool, which is attached to the entire inside surface of the cover 1 with a gap 5 formed therein, and its peripheral end 4a further extends from the mounting collar 1a of the cover 1. It is sandwiched in a covering manner by the inwardly folded peripheral edge 1b.

According to the above structure, the noise caused by the vibration of the cover 1 is absorbed by the soundproofing material 4 pasted on the inside thereof, and the vibration of the cover 1 itself is also attenuated by the soundproofing material 4, so that the noise level is significantly reduced. Moreover, the noise generated inside the engine is also absorbed by the soundproofing material 4 when it exits from the mist outlet 2 of the cover 1 to the crosspiece.

Further, according to the above configuration, the mist generated inside the engine passes through the soundproofing material 4 pasted on the inside of the cover 1 and is discharged to the outside from the discharge port 2, but the soundproofing material 4 is made of fibers. Therefore, the mist or granular lubricating oil in the mist cannot pass through, and the mist is therefore discharged to the outside after the oil component has been removed.

In this case, since the gap 5 is provided between the soundproofing material 4 and the cover 1, the mist is transferred to the discharge port 2 in the soundproofing material 4.
It passes not only near the area but also over a wide area,
Therefore, oil components etc. do not condense locally on the soundproofing material 4 and impair breathability and sound absorption properties in a short period of time, and the peripheral end 4a of the soundproofing material 4 is folded back inside the cover 1. Since the soundproofing material 4 is sandwiched between the peripheral edges in a covering manner, the soundproofing material 4 does not peel off from the end portion 4a, and the cover 1
The lubricating oil accumulated in the joint between the soundproof material 4 and its mounting counterpart (not shown) is not sucked up from the peripheral end 4a and impairs the air permeability and sound absorption properties of the soundproofing material 4.

Furthermore, when the engine is used for a long period of time, oil components removed from the mist condense on the soundproofing material 4, so the soundproofing material 4 must be cleaned periodically. By forming the injection lower, the soundproofing material 4 can be cleaned easily, efficiently, and reliably.

As described above, according to the present invention, a fibrous soundproofing material is attached to the entire inside surface of the cover in which the mist outlet is provided in an internal combustion engine, with a gap provided, and the peripheral edge of the material is covered with the periphery of the cover. By sandwiching the cover in a shape and forming an inlet for the soundproof material cleaning liquid at an appropriate position on the cover, it is possible to prevent the noise generated inside the engine from leaking to the outside, and also to reduce the noise generated by the cover itself. I can,
As a result, the problem that conventionally the cover has been an obstacle to soundproofing is solved and the engine can be made quieter, and the soundproofing material removes oil components when discharging the mist inside the engine. This has the effect of eliminating the conventional problem of oil components being discharged from the mist discharge port, contaminating the surrounding area or increasing the amount of lubricating oil consumed.

Moreover, in the present invention, the soundproofing material does not peel off from the cover or absorb lubricating oil from the peripheral edge, impairing its breathability and sound absorption properties, and the soundproofing material does not deteriorate over a long period of use. When the oil component condenses, it can be easily, efficiently, and completely cleaned by simply injecting the cleaning liquid from the injection port, which has some excellent practical advantages.
