DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION The present invention relates to a method for detecting the level of granular materials in a hopper when handling granular high-temperature materials such as fired pellets, cement barrels, and pulverized slag from metallurgical furnaces through the hopper. 〇Figure 1 shows the state in which the hopper (1) is filled with filler (c). and the filling (,
2) is supplied from below the hopper (/) to the next process as indicated by the arrow, so the level (3) of the filling (J) in the hopper (1) changes over time t. If the level (3) can be detected by some method, the filling (2) in the hopper (1)
When the filling amount of ) becomes low, the filling device (,1) can be refilled by opening the gate (4I) and replenishing the filling (k).

FIG. 2 shows an example of a conventional method for detecting level (3). In the case of Figure 1, the signal sent from the transmitter (6) is caught by the receiver (7). If the signal cannot be caught, it means that the filling (2) is still filled. By the way, in the past, light from a light bulb was generally used as the signal from the transmitter. However, since the filling material (C) is a high-temperature granular material and has a temperature of approximately 10 OOC in the hopper (1), it was difficult to distinguish between the light from the temperature radiation and the light from the transmitter. . Therefore, the conventional method shown in FIG. 2 has the disadvantage that level (3) cannot be detected accurately.

'The present invention was proposed to solve the above-mentioned conventional drawbacks, and instead of simply illuminating an electric light, it sends light as a periodic signal, calculates the correlation between the signal received by the receiver and the transmitted signal, and calculates the correlation between the signal received by the receiver and the transmitted signal. It is an object of the present invention to provide a level detection method in which it is determined that the filling is below a line connecting a transmitter and a receiver when the relationship coefficient exceeds a certain predetermined value.

Below, embodiments of the present invention will be explained with reference to the drawings. Fig. 3 is a system diagram of seven embodiments of the present invention, and Fig. 0, unlike Fig. 3, shows a set of a transmitter (6) and a receiver (7). Figures 0 and S show the case where multiple transmitters are installed in the hopper (1).
A case is shown in which a laser transmitter (f) is used as 6) and a phototube (9) is used as a receiver (ri). Now, the transmitter (6
) and receiver (wa) are surrounded by a box (l) as in the case of Fig. S, and N and gas are blown in to remove dust. Any conventional light bulb may be used as long as it emits a periodic signal. In the figure, (//) is a periodic signal, (l-) is a correlation calculator, (13) is a level display, and a

If there is a filler (k), the signal ll) will be blocked by the filler (2) and will not reach the receiver (?). At that time, the signal received by the receiver (7) contains light from the high-temperature particulate matter, so when the correlation between the periodic signal (ll) and the received signal is calculated by the correlation calculator (12), the correlation is The relationship coefficient will be close to zero. At this time, the level display (13) shows that the filler (C) is filled.

As described in detail above, according to the present invention, even if one filler is a high-temperature particulate material such as a fired pellet, the level of the filler can be easily detected by using a periodic signal. Note that by using a plurality of transmitters and receivers, the level can be detected with the necessary accuracy, and process control can be ensured when handling a high-temperature object via one hopper.
