Abstract

PURPOSE:To provide a gold-contg. silver indium alloy for dental purpose which has good gloss and does not discolor after application by consisting said alloy essentially of Ag and In and contg. Au at a prescribed ratio therein. CONSTITUTION:Respectively specified contents of Au, Ag and Pd are put in a crucible, and are heated with an oxygen burner under stirring with a stirring bar. Here, the unmolten solid phase of Au and Pd of high m. p. which are difficult to melt is scooped up on the surface and is heated directly with the oxygen burner to melt them easily. The melt is thoroughly stirred and the resultant soln. mixed with the components is charged into water to solidify the soln. into the granular form. The resultant granular gold silver palladium alloy is dried and is put together with respectively specified contents of In, Zn and Al in a crucible and these are melted in an electric furnace which is beforehand heated to about 700 deg.C.
