Abstract

PURPOSE:To eliminate swinging of the center during tightening and obtain close contact at connecting sections by forming a flank angle at the flank on the pressure side in a saw-tooth shaped thread that connects the turbine casing and valve casing. CONSTITUTION:The connecting pipe 11 from the turbine casing and the valve casing 12 of a steam turbine are connected through a threaded ring 13. At the threaded sections 17 of the threaded ring 13 and valve casing 12 the flank on the play side forms a flank angle alpha1. Further a comparatively small flank angle alpha2 is formed on the flank 31 on the pressure side. By the forming of saw-tooth shaped threads, the thread sections 17 of the threaded ring 13 and valve casing 12 are mutually formed like a wedge, preventing the escape of the threaded ring 13 at right angle to the shaft during tightening. With this arrangement the contact faces at the connection of the connecting pipe 11 and valve casing 12 are tightened with close contact, and their tightening becomes easy.
