CONSTITUTION:A self-weldable flame retardant compound prepared by incorporating 100pts.wt. rubber consisting essentially of polyisobutylene or butyl rubber, with 100pts.wt. or more halogen compound, e.g. chlorinated paraffin, having >=30% halogen content, 10pts.wt. or more antimony oxide, 100pts.wt. or more aluminum hydroxide, 50pts.wt. or more softening agent, e.g. tricresyl phosphate, and if necessary a stabilizer, e.g. tribasic lead sulfate, a filler, e.g. clay, etc., and molding the resultant mixture into a sheet, etc.
