Abstract

PURPOSE:To perform hot stamping with the clear profile lines on a molded product by a method in which a frame is set on the surface of the product in such a way as to surround the convexed portion of the product, and then a part of an elastomer is pressed on the frame. CONSTITUTION:In a hot stamping operation by pressing an elastomer 6 on a convexed portion formed on the surface of a molded product 1, a frame 8 is set on the surface of the molded product 1 in such a way as to surround the convexted portion 1b and a part of the elastomer 6 is pressed on the frame 8. The desirable height of the frame 8 is the same as or slightly lower than the level of the convexed portion 1b. Also, the frame 8 is advisable to be set with a slight distance from the convexed portion 1b.

BACKGROUND ART Hot stamping is performed on convex portions of characters, patterns, symbols, etc. formed on instrument panels and other synthetic resin molded products. FIG. 1 is a perspective view showing such a synthetic resin molded product, and FIG. 2 is a partial sectional view. The molded product 1 has a convex portion 1 to which hot stamping is applied from the main body 1a.
b is integrally formed so as to protrude from the side portion 1c. Then, as shown in FIG. 2, the convex portion 1b and the side portion 1c
are connected by a radius 1d, and if hot stamping is applied to the area indicated by a, a three-dimensional effect can be created and the decorativeness can be improved.

In the conventional hot stamping method, a movable table 2 is used to apply hot stamping to the portion a, which includes a radius in a portion.
The molded product 1 is placed on top of the molded product 1, and the hot stamping roller 6 supported by a spring (not shown) is moved from the position 6a to the position 6 in FIGS. 3 and 4, that is, the roller surface is slightly smaller than the surface of the convex portion 1b. After lowering the transfer film 6 to the lower position, by moving the moving base 2, the transfer film 6
The hot stamping roller 6 is brought into pressure contact with the radius 1d and the convex portion 1b, thereby forming a transfer film layer 7 on the surface of the convex portion 1b as shown in FIG. 6b shows the relative position of the hot stamping roller 6 with respect to the molded product 1 during hot stamping.

However, in such a conventional hot stamping method for molded products, the hot stamping roller 6
is lowered to a position where its surface interferes with the surface of the convex portion 1b and hot stamping is performed while supporting it with a spring. Therefore, it is difficult to accurately control the mutual positional relationship, and some of the molded product 1 may Due to the variation in shape, as shown in FIG. 5, there was a problem in that the parting line 7a formed at the radius 1d meandered, impairing the aesthetic appearance.

Hereinafter, this invention will be explained with reference to the drawings. FIG. 6 is a perspective view showing a frame placed on a molded product, FIGS. 7 to 9 are vertical sectional views showing a hot stamping method according to an embodiment of the present invention, and FIGS. In the drawings, the same symbols as in Figure 5 indicate the same or corresponding parts.
Reference numeral 8 denotes a frame, which includes a core body 8a made of an aluminum plate or the like, and an elastic material layer 8 made of silicone rubber attached to the surface of the core body 8a.
b and a rubber plate 8c provided so as not to damage the surface of the molded product 1 are laminated, and the thickness of the frame 8 as a whole is the same as the height of the convex portion 1b of the molded product 1, or it The width is also set slightly smaller and surrounds the convex portion 1b. The take-up roller 5 and the hot stamping roller 6 are connected by a chain or the like so as to move in conjunction with the movable table 2.

In the hot stamping method, the molded product 1 is fixed to the movable table 2, a frame 8 is placed on the main body 1a so as to surround the convex portion 1b, and a hot stamping roller 6 is placed so that the surface thereof is placed through the transfer film 3. After being lowered until it contacts the surface of the frame 8, when the movable stage 2 is moved in the direction of the arrow, the hot stamping roller 6 is pressed against the radius 1d as shown in FIG. 7, and then as shown in FIG. As shown, the convex portion 1b
The transfer film layer 7 is formed on the surface of the convex portion 1b of the molded product 1, and as shown in FIG. 9, the entire width of the convex portion 1b is After reaching the frame 8 on the end side, the hot stamping roller 6 is raised, and the hot stamping work is completed. Line P in FIG. 7 shows the relative trajectory of the hot stamping roller 6 with respect to the molded product 1.

By hot stamping as described above, the hot stamping roller 6 can be easily positioned, and the radius 1
Meandering of the parting line at point d can be prevented. Further, if an elastic material layer 8b made of silicone rubber is provided on the surface of the frame 8, the frame 8
The repeating frame 8 can be used without forming a transfer film.

It goes without saying that the planar shape of the convex portion 1b to be hot-stamped changes depending on the shape of the convex portion 1b. Further, although the above description has been made regarding roller type hot stamping, the present invention can also be applied to other types of hot stamping such as press type. Furthermore, the present invention is applicable not only to molded products for automobiles but also to hot stamping of other molded products.

As explained above, according to the present invention, hot stamping is performed by arranging a frame close to the rounded part of the convex part of a molded product so as to surround the convex part, and the surface of the convex part is Since the dimensional relationship between the frame surface and the frame surface can always be maintained constant, the hot stamping roller will not hit the rounded part deeply,
There is no shallow contact, so hot stamping can always be applied with a constant contact. As a result, the meandering of the parting line between the start and end points of the transfer film layer formed by hot stamping is prevented, resulting in an excellent aesthetic appearance. Since hot stamping can be performed under a constant pressure, the adhesion of the transfer film is constant and stable.
