Abstract

PURPOSE:To automate the stage, by receiving an upper polarizing plate and a lower polarizing plate which are fed, and simultaneously sticking them to each prescribed position of the upper and lower faces of a liquid crystal display element. CONSTITUTION:An attracting base 12 descends and ascends, and shifts a polarizing plate 1 provided with a protecting film, onto an adhesive tape 15. When the polarizing plate 1 provided with the protecting film passes through an R part of a splitter 16, the protecting film moves in a state that it remains stuck onto the adhesive tape 15, but a polarizing plate 2 is detached from the adhesive tape 15 and adheres onto an adhesive tape 17. The polarizing plate 2 passing through the both upper and lower routes stops in a state that the adhesive faces are opposed to each other. On the other hand, a liquid crystal display element 18 is fed between the upper and lower polarizing plate 2, 2. The polarizing plates 2, 2 are stuck to the liquid crystal display element between press-contact rolls 23.

Liquid crystal display elements are used in a variety of fields, including watches and calculators, and while the manufacturing process is becoming more streamlined, such as by manufacturing multiple pieces, the polarizing plate pasting process is now using a jig to attach the liquid crystal display element and polarizing plate. Streamlining was delayed because the manual method of arranging the polarizers, peeling off the protective film on the adhesive side of the polarizer using a bottle set, and pasting the polarizer using the pressure difference from atmospheric pressure in a vacuum was still being used. .

One embodiment of the apparatus for attaching a polarizing plate to form such a liquid crystal display element will be described. FIG. 3 shows a polarizing plate supply mechanism. The polarizing plate 1 with a protective film placed in the polarizing plate cassette 7 is supported by blades 8ζ provided at both ends of the lower part of the polarizing plate cassette 7 with the protective film 4 facing down. The drawer base 10, which has a vacuum suction rubber suction cup 9 embedded in its upper surface, rises, vacuum suctions the central part of the polarizing plate 1 with a retaining MM at the lowermost stage in the polarizing plate cassette 7, and descends. At this time, the protective film-coated polarizing plate 1 whose both ends are supported by the blades 8 bends in an arched manner and separates from the second and subsequent protective film-coated polarizing plates. Thereafter, the drawer base lO advances with the protective film-covered polarizing plate 1 adsorbed, and is lowered onto the drawer polarizing plate positioning stage 11 from the polarizing plate cassette 7, and at the same time, the suction base 12 is also lowered.

descends and rises to transfer the protective film-coated polarizing plate l onto the adhesive tape 15. The protective film-coated polarizing plate I is moved to the right by the adhesive tape 15, and when it passes through the It part of the splitter 16, the protective film 4 moves with the adhesive tape 154 attached, but the polarizing plate 2 is moved by the adhesive tape 15. The dead layer tape 17f, which moves at the same speed as the adhesive tape 15, separates from the adhesive tape 15 and adheres thereto. 2 In this way, the polarizing plate 2 that has passed through the LF2 route in Figure 1 is stopped at a predetermined position with its adhesive surfaces facing each other.

On the other hand, the liquid crystal display element 18 is sequentially pushed out from the lower stage of the element force set 19 to the conveyance guide 21 by the pusher 20, and after being conveyed and positioned. 2.2
Supplied between 1 and 2. The upper pressure roller 23 presses the upper and lower adhesive tapes 17, the tips of the upper and lower polarizing plates 2.2, and the tips of the liquid crystal display cable 18, releases the clamp of the liquid crystal display element, and then attaches the F adhesive tape 17. The motor 241 winds the polarizing plate 2.2 and the liquid crystal display element 18 onto the pressure roller 23.
Through the partition, the polarizing plate 2.2 is attached to the liquid crystal display element 18 and pulled out from the pressure roller 23. 5.2 in Figure 4

By arranging two or more upper and lower pressing rollers 23 each, the liquid crystal display element can be pulled out horizontally without adhering to either one of the adhesive tapes 17. At this time, the upper and lower protective films 3.3 adhere to the upper and lower adhesive tapes 23 and move, so that they are peeled off from the upper and lower polarizing plates 2.2.

In this embodiment, since the polarizing plate is pasted with the pressure roller 23 while expelling air from the end face, no air bubbles remain on the surface during pasting. In addition, in the polarizing plate pasting process, the mechanism can be simplified because the top and bottom polarizing plates are pasted and the top and bottom protection@M3.3 is removed at the same time.
