本発明は、垂直磁化記録用ヘッドに関し、磁性記録媒体
に接触する部分、すなわち磁性薄膜磁極合一保持した主
磁極ヘッドの保持部および補助磁極ヘッドにセラミック
本来の高硬度を維持しなおかつ潤滑性を向上せしめた潤
滑性高硬度領域を設けることにより、耐摩耗性が良好で
、接触する磁性記録媒体に損傷を与える事が少く、安定
した磁気記録再生が行える垂直磁気記録用ヘッドの提供

点があった。また耐摩耗性の解失のために非常に硬度の
高い材料例えばサファイア等の材料を用いると、材料費
が高く、加工が困難で非常にコスト高となる等の欠点が

な垂直磁化用ヘッドとなりまた媒体とのコンタクトも良
好で高性能高密度磁気記録が信頼性良く行なえる0以上
のように本発明は、垂直磁化記録用ヘッドにおいて磁性
媒体に接触する主磁極または補助磁極表面に潤滑性高硬
度領域を設けたもので、耐摩耗性の向上を図ることがで
