As a result, since the inner wall of the funnel 2 is irregular, the surface area of a getter film 5 becomes two to three times that of the conventional one, and the getter effect becomes excellent. Thus, since the surface area of the getter film 5 can be extended, the life and the reliability of a color picture tube are increased. The color picture tube consists of a panel 1, a funnel 2, an electron gun 4 containing a getter 3, and the other members contained in the electron gun 4.
