Abstract
PURPOSE:To enable the reproduction of a virtual intermediate tone and to prevent missing of fine lines, by converting an analog picture signal into the 1st and 2nd values with a prescribed ratio when signals of intermediate information are consecutive, in a processing system binarizing the transmitted analog picture signals. CONSTITUTION:When a solid-state scanner 1 sequentially transmits an analog picture signal (a) of a picture element, a white level detection circuit 5 outputs a maximum level as a white level signal (d) and a black level detection circuit 6 outputs a minimum level as a black level signal (e). Two reference voltage level signals (j), (k) obtained through voltage division for the level difference between the signals (d) and (e) and the analog picture signal (a) are compared at comparators 7, 8 and the analog picture signal (a) indicating the intermediate tone information is transmitted consecutively, allowing to output high and low levels alternately. At the reception side, where the analog picture signal (a) indicating the intermediate tone information is consecutively transmitted shows picture elements of white and black alternately, allowing to reproduce the intermediate tone virtually.
