Abstract
PURPOSE: To prevent a drop in temp. of a regenerative chamber or a horizontal cross passage communicating with a stacked and replaced flue of a coke oven by inserting an opening/closing member and a heat insulating material from a flue opening at a top of the coke oven directly after the combustion of the load replacing flue is stopped.
CONSTITUTION: Supply of a gas from a kiln opening of a coke oven 1 to three flues 2 is stopped and, directly thereafter, a closing member 7 closing an opening of a bottom part of the flue 2 is hung down from a flue openikng 3 at a furnace top by using an iron rod 6 or the like to close each opening. Further, an heat insulating material 8 is similarily hung down from the flue opening 3 and spread all over the bottom surface of the flue 2 to carry out heat insulation. Thereby, because the bottom part of the flue is closed and insulated from heat during a time when the inside of the flue 2 to be stacked and replaced is at a high temp., if the temp. of the inside of the flue 2 during stacking and replacing operation is lowered, cool air is prevented from infiltrating into a gas duct 4 or an air duct 5.
