Abstract

PURPOSE: The titled resin composition with high light resistance without deteriorating any original properties of the resin, which is prepd. by the addition of a specified piperidine deriv. and/or an oxalanilide deriv. to an acetal resin.
CONSTITUTION: 100pts.wt. acetal resin (a polymer or copolymer of formaldehyde or its cyclic oligomer) and about 0.01W5pts.wt. piperidine deriv. of formulaI {wherein R1 and R2 are each alkyl; R3 is acyl, (cyclo)alkyl, aryl, N-substd. carbamoyl (when i=1), diacyl, alkylene, dicarbonyl, dicarbamoyl (when i=2), or triacyl (when i=3)}and/or an oxalanilide deriv. of formula II{wherein R4 and R7 are each H, 1W8C alkyl or lower alkoxy; R5 and R6 are both H or one of them is 1W4C alkyl; m is 0W8; n is 1W4}are melt mixed at about 175W 230°C.
