Abstract
PURPOSE: A composition which can proviee films excellent in chemical resistance, flexibility, weather resistance and particularly salt spray resistance and which is useful for electrocoating and molding, comprising a nitrogen-containing acrylic copolymer, an amine-modified epoxy resin and a blocked polyisocyanate.
CONSTITUTION: An epoxy resin composition comprising a linear copolymer containing repeating units of formula I, wherein R1 and R2 are each H, C1W20 alkyl, cycloalkyl, alkenyl, aminoalkyl, C6W20 aryl or arylalkyl and repeating units of formula II, wherein R3 is H, methyl, a halogen or acetoxyl or a group of formula III, where R5 is H, a C1W10 alkyl or an arylalkyl, or a C1W5 alkoxyl, and R4 is H, a C1W20 alkyl, a cycloalkyl, a C6W20 aryl or a group of formula IV, where R6 is a C1W8 alkyl and n is 1W30, a compound derived by substituting part or all of the epoxy groups of an epoxy compound with a structure of formula V, wherein R7 and R8 are each H, a C1W20 alkyl or cycloalkyl, and a compound derived by blocking part or all the polyisocyanato groups of a polyisocyanate with an alcohol and/or an amine.
