Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide the titled compsn. which gives a cured film having excellent resistance to marring and good adhesion and is useful for sunglass lens, etc., by dissolving a condensed hydrolyzate of an alkyltrialkoxysilane in a mixture of water and an alcohol, and then adding a curing catalyst and acetic acid to the resulting mixture.
CONSTITUTION: In the preparation of a coating compsn. consisting of 20W35pts.wt. solid and solvent-soluble condensed hydrolyzate (A) of an alkyltrialkoxysilane having the formula RSi(OR')3 (wherein R, R' are each a 1W4C aliph. hydrocarbon group), 0.05W3pts.wt. curing catalyst (B) and 5W35pts.wt. acetic acid (C), said condensed hydrolyzate is firstly dissolved in an alcohol contg. 7W35wt% water to prepare said coating compsn. In this way, there can be prepd. the coating compsn. which has excellent resistance to marring and solvent and adhesion of a coating film, and can exhibit the best film properties stably in a short time, which said coating compsn. originally possesses.
