NEW MATERIAL:Compounds of formula I [X1 is S, methylene; R1 is formula II (X2 is S, N-CHO); R2 is H, when X1 is methylene or acetoxymethyl, when X1 is S; A is formula III (R4 is H, coumarin-3-carbonyl); R3 is H] and their pharmacologically permissible salts.
EXAMPLE: (±)cis-7β- [(R)-2-( p-Hydroxyphenyl )-2-( coumarin-3-carboxamide ) acetamide]-2-carboxy-1-azabicyclo[4,2,0]oct-2-ene-8-one.
USE: Antibacterial.
PREPARATION: A compound of formula IV (R3' is H, ester-protecting group) is acylated with a compound of R9-A1-COOH[A1 is formula V (R'4 is amino-protecting group)] to give a compound of formula VI and, when necessary, the protecting groups are removed to give the compound of formula I.
