Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a copying machine for macy copies of a low power consumption and a simple structure, by heating a thermal recording head by a pattern corresponding to the electric picture signal from an image sensor to transfer color agents from an ink donor web, which is brought into contact with the head closely by pressure, to a recording paper web. CONSTITUTION:A platen 11 where an original is set is reciprocated by a platen driving step motor 13, and the original on the platen 11 is read for every one line to generate a picture electric signal from an image sensor 22. In accordance with this signal, the heating element of a thermal recording head 31 in the side opposite to a back roller 32 provided in the copying machine emits heat to generate a pattern. A recording paper web 26 from a recording paper web roll 25 and an ink donor web 33 from a supply roll 34 are brought into contact with each other closely by pressure on the head 31 by the roller 32 to transfer color agents from the web 33 to the recording paper web 26. By this transfer, the pattern from the heating element of the head 31 is recorded on the recording paper web 26, and the web 33 is separated by an idler roller 38, and the recorded recording paper is ejected.
