Abstract

PURPOSE: To manufacture with good operating efficiency a prepreg sheet having stabilized properties, by sandwiching reinforcing fibers on which a catalyst for curing a resin has been permitted to adhere between films on which a resin made flowable at room temperature has been coated, bonding them under pressure, and impregnating the resin followed by aging.
CONSTITUTION: The reinforcing fibers 2 (for example, carbon fibers) are sent out from a roll 1, a solution 4 of the catalyst (for example, boron trifluoride monoethyl amine complex salt) is sprayed on the reinforcing fibers 2, the solvent is then evaporated by a hot-air dryer 6, they are allowed to cool by a cold-air blower 7, and then the reinforcing fibers coated with the catalyst is delivered to a laminating point 8. On the other hand, the films 10, 10 sent out of rolls 9, 9 are coated with the resin flowable at room temperature (for example, an epoxy resin), and the resin-coated films 16, 16 are laminated integrally on opposite sides of the reinforcing fibers 2 to form the sheet 17.
