Abstract

PURPOSE: To repair and remove surface flaw without generating slag and smoke by combinedly using detection head which detects the surface flaw and induction coils which melt the surface flaw by high frequency induction heating.
CONSTITUTION: A flaw detection device 1 which detects the surface flaw of the slab S and plural number of induction coils 2 which melt and repair surface flaw by induction heating the part of surface flaw detected by the device 1 and its vicinity are installed. A control part 3 which issues a signal to flow high frequency current to a certain coil when a surface flaw detected by the device 1 reaches to the place facing to the coil 2, is installed and signal to indicate the extent of flaw size and depth are fed from the signal processing portion 11 of the device 1. Transfer velocity of the slab S is calculated from the number of pulses of the input signal, and the switch circuit 4 which flows current to the coil 2 is controlled by issueing instruction signal to the power source device 5.
