Abstract
PURPOSE:To lower the internal resistance of an organic electrolytic cell and improve the performance of the cell, by making heat-treatment of the manganese dioxide anode of the cell while supplying humidity to the anode. CONSTITUTION:The anode 1 made mainly of electrolytic manganese dioxide is inserted into an anode can 2, and an electrolyte absorber 3 is put on it. The cathode 7 made of metallic lithium is attached by pressing to a net 6 welded on the terminal plate 5 of the cathode, the terminal plate 5 is opposed to the anode can 2, interposing a gasket 4, and an organic electrolytic cell is formed by sealing hermetically the mouth. In this case, the anode 1 is heat-treated, and manganese dioxide is transformed into the intermediate substances of tau type and beta type. The heat treatment is processed for predetermined hours (for example, for 4 hours, at the temperature of 370-430 deg.C) while supplying highly humid air (for example, relative humidity is 70-95%) into an electric furnace by using a humidifier.
