Abstract

PURPOSE: To simultaneously and uniformly open the vent holes of the entire part, improve efficiency and obtain a CO2 sand mold of good quality by inserting the plural vent wires studded in a base plate in correspondence to a pattern into the CO2 sand mold.
CONSTITUTION: Plural vent wires 3 are driven into the surface of a base plate 2 of the same shape as the top surface shape of a molding flask 5 in correspondence to the surface of a pattern 4a fixed to a molding board 4, whereby a vent wire plate 1 is formed. Next, CO2 sand 6 is filled in the flask 5 on the board 4, and is molded. The plate 1 is pressed onto the surface of the sand 6 so that the wires 4 are inserted into the CO2 sand until the plate 2 abuts on the flask 5. Thence, the plate 1 is moved upward to remove the wires 3, whereby the CO2 sand mold pierced with vent holes 7 is molded.
