Abstract

PURPOSE:To enhance safety in maintenance of a cooling unit of a revolving machine without deterioration of cooling effect by a method wherein heat radiating parts are installed on side walls of a current collector and stuck out into ring recesses opening in the axial direction. CONSTITUTION:Ring recesses 12 are installed on the side walls of a current collector with their openings in the axial direction, and an enclosed chamber 11, e.i. a body tube 8 forming a heat pipe, is passing through the current collector in the axial direction and stuck out into the recesses 12 so that the heat radiating parts 9 are accommodated in the recesses. With this construction, the heat radiating parts 9, which constitute a revolving exposured part, are within recesses 12, so their exposure on the brush 4 side is not needed. Therefore, hazard in maintenance around the brush 4 is alleviated. Furthermore, since heat radiating parts 9 are in the recesses 12 but opening in the axial direction, they are exposed to cooling gas, providing better cooling effect.
