Abstract
PURPOSE:To stop dirty water flowing into a contaner of pure water by the above- mentioned water flow stopping device when the quality of water deteriorates, by providing a source of light and a receiver of light to the container putting a medium in the shape of board between them, and by closing a feed path by a light signal received. CONSTITUTION:The container 1, 2 is made of glass, having an inlet 5 and an outlet 6 for the water to exchange ion. The medium 7 is made of transparent glass, etc., fitted to the under part of the container 2 which is made of glass. The film 8 is made by evaporating metal having both acid and alkali properties such as aluminum. The source of light is fitted to the container 2 with some interval between them, while a light receiver 11 is provided on the opposite side. The film 8 is dissolved and lost, when an exchanging ability of ion exchange resin in the container of pure water is lost and the water containing hydrochloric acid and sodium hydroxide flowing into it. At the same time the film 8 is dissolved, the light from the source 10 passes through the lacked part of the film and transmits a signal to the light receiver 11, which brings an electromagnetic valve 12 into operation, therefore, the flow of water is cut out.
