PURPOSE:To enable to obtain large soldering strength of a semiconductor element by a method wherein a coating layer consisting of a high melting point metal is formed on a substrate consisting of an Fe alloy to constitute a supplementary plate, and a semiconductor wafer is soldered thereon. CONSTITUTION:The coating layer 2b consisting of the high melting point metal of Mo, for example, having a coefficient of thermal expansion approximate to the coefficient of thermal expansion of the Si wafer 1 is covered at least on one side of the substrate 2a consisting of the Fe alloy to constitute the supplementary plate 2. A solder material 3 consisting of Al or Al-Si and the wafer 1 are laminated in order on the coating layer 2b side of the supplementary plate 2 thereof, and when it is heated, formation of an eutectic alloy of Al-Si is made to start from the part where the solder material 3 is coming in contact with the wafer 1, the whole of the solder material 3 is converted into the Al-Si eutectic alloy to be wet with the supplementary plate 2, and the wafer 1 and the supplementary plate 2 are soldered. As a result, a brittle FenAlm alloy having small strength is not provided, strength at the soldering part is enlarged, and damage of the wafer 1 is not generated.
