Abstract
PURPOSE: To obtain a pleasant heating operation by a method wherein a vaporized fuel is oxidized and heated by a catalytic body carrying an oxidizing catalyst on the surface thereof and radiant rays are generated from a radiating plate to produce hot air, in the captioned heating apparatus which is adopted to perform a heating operation by discharging into the room an exhaust gas generating as a result of combustion of the gaseous fuel.
CONSTITUTION: For starting the heating operation, a combustion cylinder 1 is heated by energizing a sheath heater 8 and a motor 10 and an electromagnetic pump 23 are operated in sequence. Then a liquid fuel within a tank 24 is injected toward a cone 14 at the top of a main shaft 11 from a pipe 25 and scattered from an atomizing plate 12. Further, the liquid fuel is diffused widely in the axial direction by means of a diffusion plate 13 so that it runs against a vaporizing surface 7 and is vaporized. The vaporized fuel is then mixed with air introduced from an inlet port 22 by means of a turbo-fan 15 and is introduced to the catalytic body 3 through a backfire preventive plate 4 so that the fuel is oxidized and heated by the surface of the catalytic body 3. The heating of the vaporized fuel causes radiant rays to generate from the radiating plate 27 and as a result, hot air is produced and discharged into the room from blowout port 21 via a diluting chamber 20.
