Abstract

PURPOSE:To detect the direction and magnitude of torque applied to a torsion spring by providing the 1st body of revolution, which has two electodes applied with signals mutually reversed inphase, and the 2nd body of revolution, which has the 2nd electrode, opposite each other. CONSTITUTION:A torque detector consists of the 1st body 11 of revolution and the 2nd body 16 of revolution. The 1st body 11 of revolution 11 has the 1st (a) electrode 12 and the 1st (b) electrode, and the 2nd body 16 of revolution has the 2nd electrode 17 which faces to the 1st (a) and 1st (b) electrodes at constant intervals, and couples with them electrically through electrostatic capacity and mechanically through a torsion spring 35. The torsion spring 35 is fixed by two knock pins 36 pressed into the 1st and 2nd bodies 11 and 16 of revolution. From a signal generated at the 2nd electrode according to the electrostatic capacity which corresponds to interelectrode area between the 1st (a) electrode 12 and the 1st (b) electrode 13, and the 2nd electrode 17, a signal which corresponds to the extent of the torsion of the torsion spring 36 is generated.
