Abstract

PURPOSE:To make servo driving control possible in accurate synchronization with a motor for driving a photosensitive drum by providing a position detector for servocontrol for driving an optical system. CONSTITUTION:A position detecting pattern 11 is disposed near the original placing part of contact glass 1 and a photosensor 12 is installed near a slit near the position of a mirror 3 or an imaging part to detect the reflected light from the pattern 11 irradiated by the light of an original illuminating lamp 2 with the sensor 12, whereby a position detector for a moving optical system is constituted. The light of the lamp 2 is reflected by the pattern 11, and is detected with the sensor 12. Then the black pattern in white ground formed on the pattern 11 is detected. The output thereof is detected as the quantity of lamp light in a quantity of light detecting circuit 14, by which the lamp voltage is controlled. It is compared with the pulses from a drum speed detector 10 in a servocircuit 15, and in accordance with the phase difference thereof or pulse separation, it is applied as a control signal to a motor 16 for driving the optical system.
