Abstract
PURPOSE:To evade absence of information by using two digital recording and reproducing devices and by reproducing information on a tape before editing by one device while recording only a necessary part of the tape on another tape by the other device to generate an edited tape. CONSTITUTION:The part 1 of the 1st tape loaded on the 1st digital recording and reproducing device is reproduced first and a part including the beginning of an area B beyond the boundary between areas A and B is recorded on the 2nd tape loaded on the 2nd digital recording and reproducing device. Then, information on the 1st tape is reproduced from a length L1 before the boundary between areas C and D. Simultaneously, information on the 2nd tape is also reproduced from an L2 before the boundary between the areas A and B. Thus, the 1st and 2nd tapes are run synchronously to record information from the boundary between the areas A and B on the 2nd tape to the areas on the 1st tape. In this case, the area A is faded out and the area D is faded in by digital arithmetic at the boundary between the areas A and D. Those operations are carried out by using time codes recorded on a different track.
