Abstract
PURPOSE:To warn beforehand a momentary disconnection accompanied with switching of a light emitter, by providing oscillators of different frequencies in respective repeaters to generate a monitor signal for switching of the light emitter. CONSTITUTION:The digital signal received by a light receiver 12 is amplified by an amplifier 13 and is regenerated to a DC by a DC regenerator 14 and is supplied to an discriminator 16 through an equalizer 15 and is sent to a driving part 18 synchronously with the output of a timing regenerating circuit 17. Meanwhile, an analogue signal is sent to the driving part 18 through a filter 19 and an amplifier 20. The output of the driving part 18 is sent to a fiber 11b through one of light emitters 5a-5d which is switched by a switching part 21. The switching part 21 monitors the operation of light emitters; and if they are degraded, an oscillator 22 is oscillated to generate a monitor signal. This signal is separated from the transmission signal in each repeater by the filter 19 and the equalizer 15 and by-passes a digital processing part and is sent to a terminal station.
