Abstract

PURPOSE:To suppress accumulation of shot noise and beat noise by transmitting the reception signal of code 'l' on which noise is put after inverting it to code '0'. CONSTITUTION:A reception equalizing amplifier 22, a code inverting part 23, and a signal transmitting part 24 are cascaded to constitute each code inverting optical repeater 21. The amplifier 22 consists of an APD and a grounded emitter parallel feedback type amplifier 28, and the inverting part 23 consists of one stage of a transistor, and the transmission part 24 consists of a semiconductor laser 29 and its bias current supply circuit 31. Thus, the transmitted code (1, 0) is inverted at every repeater 21, and the accumulation of noise is suppressed because the light of the noise generated in code '1' is turned off in the next repeater.
