Abstract
PURPOSE:To close an air release port quickly and surely when melt to be injected arrives at a valve body by rotating and lifting a valve and acting the force in a closing direction upon the valve with a device of closing a gas discharging passage opening at the side face of the valve through sliding of the valve in its axial line direction. CONSTITUTION:Stationary and movable dies 11, 12 are mated, and the guide rod 49 of a valve 41 is located in the lower vertical part in the guide groove 48 of a spool 31. Next, when the spool 31 is lowered by a cylinder 52, the valve 41 closes a vent groove 22 and a gas discharging bypass 25 opens, then the rod 49 comes to the sloped part of the groove 48. When molten metal is cast into a cavity 15, the gas therein flows through the groove 22, a passage 25, a valve chamber 47, and a discharge port 36. Then, when the melt ascends in the groove 22, the valve 41 is kicked up by the impact thereof, and ascends while turning by the effect of the rod 49, the groove 48 and an elastic material 69 until it abuts on a valve seat 34, thereby closing the passage 25. In spite of discontinuous striking of the melt against the valve body owing to mixing with the gas, the valve 41 is maintained in the upper position by the tensile force of the material 69.
