Abstract
PURPOSE:To close an air release port quickly and surely when melt to be injected arrives at a valve body by releasing the open state detaining member of valve acted with the force in a closing direction by closing operation with a device of closing a gas discharging passage opening at the side face of the valve through sliding of the valve in its axial direction. CONSTITUTION:Stationary and movable dies 11, 12 are mated and a leaf spring 62 is engaged to the notched step part 61 of a valve body shaft 45. When a spool 15 is lowered by a cylinder 52, a valve 41 closes a vent groove 22, and opens a gas discharging bypass 25. Thereupon, when molten metal is cast into a cavity 15, the gas therein flows through the groove 22, a passage 25, a valve chamber 47 and a discharge port 36. Thence, when the melt ascends in the groove 22, the valve 41 is kicked up by the impact thereof, and the central part of the spring 62 is forcibly expanded by the ascending of the tapered part of the step part 61 until the valve 41 ascends and abuts on a valve seat 34, thereby closing the passage 25. In spite of discontinuous striking of the melt against the valve body owing to mixing with the gas, the valve 41 is maintained in the upward position by the tensile force of an elastic body 69.
