Abstract

PURPOSE:To exactly detect a transfer paper which has caused a separation error, and to utilize it for exactly displaying the number of copying sheets, etc., by providing a detecting means of a jam paper on a traveling route where passes through a forcibly separated transfer paper only. CONSTITUTION:On a carrying route RB of a forcibly separated jam paper, a sensor S1 consisting of a light emission body and a photodetecting body is provided, and a jam paper is detected by reflected rays from the jam paper. Also, on the paper discharge part, a sensor S2 is provided, transfer paper separated properly is detected, and these outputs of the sensor are connected to the AND circuit. In this constitution, in case of a normal operation, a separation error detecting FF is reset, and only a signal of S2 is outputted and counted. When a separation jam occurs, the FF circuit is set and no count signal is outputted from the AND circuit. In this way, jam paper is detected exactly and also the number of copying sheets is counted exactly.
