Abstract

PURPOSE:To provide a heat-sensitive recording material which can readily form fine grannules and has excellent thermal responsiveness, by providing a heat- sensitive layer comprising a heat-sensitive recording material cosisting of a coloring lactone compound, a phenolic acidic substance and a phenylurea derivative on a substrate. CONSTITUTION:A heat-sensitive recording material obtained by dispersing (A) a coloring lactone compound (e.g.: dye derivative of triphenylmethane series, etc.), (B) a phenolic acidic substance, (C) a phenylurea derivative as a color ability modifier inactive to water, having a melting point of 70-130 deg.C, preferably 90-110 deg.C, represented by the formula, where R1 represents H, alkyl, or acyl; R2 represents H, alkyl, or alkenyl: R3 represents H, alkyl, or alkynyl, (e.g.: 1- octadecyl-3-phenylurea) and (D) a binder (e.g.: PVA) in a solvent and granulating it with a ball mill such as an attritor, is coated and dried on a substrate, thereby obtaining the objective material.
