PURPOSE:To prevent a phenomenon of fogging and thereby obtain a picture which is free from the formation of color of ground and whose color is formed clearly and with high density, by mixing specific hydroxyphenylester in a heat- sensitive color formation layer for which a leuco dye is used. CONSTITUTION:A heat-sensitive color formation layer is made to contain, as color-forming constituents, a leuco dye which is usually colorless or light-colored, a compound expressed by the formulaI(wherein X' is halogen, a nitro group or hydrogen; Y' is hydrogen, a low-rank alkyl group, a low-rank alkoxy group, halogen, a hydroxyl group, a benzil group, a banzoyl group, a carboxyl group, a naphthyl group, a phenoxy group, an acetyl group, or a nitro group; and m and n are 0, 1, 2 or 3), and a compound expressed by the formula II (wherein X'' is hydrogen, a nitro group or a hydroxyl group; Y'' is hedrogen, a low-rank alkyl or alkoxy group, halogen, or a nitro or hydroxyl group; and m and n are 0, 1, 2 or 3).
