Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve preservativity and the like and reduce blur of a color developed picture in a thermosensitive recording material having a thermosensitive color developing layer mainly composed of a leuco dye and an acid substance by incorporating a specified amide compound in the thermosensitive color developing layer. CONSTITUTION:A leuco dye (e.g., 3-cyclohexylamino-6-chlorofluoran) and an acid substance (e.g., boric acid or alpha-naphthol) are mixed with a binder (e.g., polyvinyl alcohol or gelatin), an auxiliary additive (e.g., silica or talc) and a compound represented by the formula (where R<1> and R<2> represent each 1-30C alkyl) (e.g., distearylterephthalamide or dilaurylisophthalamide) at a rate of 0.1-10pts.wt. per 1pt.wt. leuco dye. Then, a coating liquid for formation of a thermosensitive layer thus obtained is applied on a supporting body such as paper, synthetic paper or plastic film and dried to obtain an intended thermosensitive recording material.
