Abstract
PURPOSE: To prevent the irregular wear of the wire tread of a tire by increasing the diameter of the rim at the outside of the tire larger than that of the rim at the inside as an asymmetrical structure, thereby preventing the slip of the tire at the cornering time.
CONSTITUTION: The diameter d2 of a rim at the outside of a tire is increased to larger than the diameter d1 of a rim at the inside of the tire, the diameter d1 of the rim at the inside is increased to larger than a standard value, and the side wall at the inside is lengthened that much longer than the side wall at the outside. With this asymmetrical tire 1 and the rim 2, the rigidities and deflection amounts of the right and left tires 1 are different at the cornering time, and the supporting rate of the tire is larger at the side wall at the outside having larger rigidity. Accordingly, the total grip of the tread is thus increased to raise its cornering force, resulting in the reduction in the slippage and also in the irregular wear of the tread.
