Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a tire to promote the maneuverability of a car at the time of straight driving and cornering in both wet and dry states of a road surface, by providing the tire with a high capacity to catch the dry and wet road surface. CONSTITUTION:On the basis of an equator face A, the rate of the ground- contact area of a tread face 51 on the outside of a car is selected at 55-90%, while the rate of the ground-contact area of a tread face 52 on the inside of the car is at 50-70%. The latter rate of the ground-contact area is set at 60-90% of the former. A tread radius TR1 of the tread face 51 is selected greater than a tread radius TR2 of the tread face 52 by 1-2mm. at the edge of the ground- contact width. A shoulder radius SR1 on the outside is set shorter than a shoulder radius SR2 on the inside. On the basis of the conicity force caused by the difference of tread radius and the difference of rates of ground-contact area, the car is improved in its capacity of straight driving and the cornering force by the conicity force caused by the increase or decrease of a load.
