Abstract
PURPOSE:To enable phase compensation without using any multiplier, by rotating a reference signal vector according to the phase variance and discriminating a correct signal vector. CONSTITUTION:An output signal gn of an automatic equalizer 8 is inputted to a discrimination circuit 9 without phase compensation. To a phase variance thetan obtained from the output of a phase controlling circuit 10, a reference signal vector an is rotated by thetan with a vector rotating device 11 and a reference signal vector thetan in phase compensation is obtained. From a difference signal en between an equalizer output signal gn and the reference signal vector thetan at the discrimination circuit 9, an error signal epsilon'n used for the correction of the automatic equalizer tap gain can directly be obtained.
