Abstract
PURPOSE: To keep a heat conductive surface always clean by a method wherein the dirtiness of the heat conductive surface is calculated by the quantity of heat conduction to water and a soot blower is controlled by the value of the optimum time interval of soot blow obtained.
CONSTITUTION: A waste heat boiler 1 is provided with an inlet exhaust gas thermometer 4, an outlet exhaust thermometer 5, a supply water thermometer 6, a steam blow meter 7, a steam thermometer 8 and a soot blower drive circuit 10. The total quantity of heat given to water is found by an arithmetic circuit 16. Since this quantity of heat is that which is conducted through the heat conductive surface of the boiler 1, the logarithmic mean temperature difference is calculated by an arithmetic circuit 15. Then, transmission quantity of heat for a clean heat conductive surface is found by the arithmetic circuit 14, the dirtiness is calculated by a division circuit, compared with the dirtiness set by a comparison circuit 12 and an instruction is given to a soot blower drive circuit 10 to keep the heat conductive surface clean.
