Abstract
PURPOSE:To minimize the possibility of production of a ring artifact at a center without the sacrifice of a space resolution as a whole, by a method wherein a pitch of cells is incread in the proximity of the central cell, and a space resolution at a central part side is reduced appropriately. CONSTITUTION:Fan beam X-rays FX, spreading in a flat fan-shape from an X- ray source 1, are applied in a pulse manner to an object to be applied, and the X-rays are detected by a detector 2 consisting of a plurality of radiation detecting cells placed in parallel. The detector 2 has a wider opening pitch Dp at the central channel, and the pitch Dp of the cell decreases gradually in a continuous manner the further outward from the center cell. The X-ray source 1 and the radiation detector 2 are moved in a rotative manner in synchronism with each other and in the same direction centering around the object 3 to be irradiated to collect X-ray data on various directions in a section of the object 3 to be irradiated. The data are analyzed by an electronic computer to reform the section of the object to be irradiated. This relieves ring artifactor and permits the improvement of a contrast resolution at a head section in the proximity of the center of the detector.
