Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent the abnormal temperature rise of oil when a gear is actuated at high speed by providing a tub which receives the lubricating oil emitted from the gear on the upper wall in the gear case that accomodates the gear and applying the lubricating oil to required locations from the tub.
CONSTITUTION: The lubricating oil which is induced in a gear case 3 is lifted upward and part of it is emitted from the upward gear 41 in the radial direction. The lubricating oil emitted from the gear 41 is applied in the direction of revolution along the upper wall of the gear case and most of it flows in a tub 30. When the rotary speed of the gear 41 is increased, the quantity of supply to the tub 30 exceeds the outflow to an inter-deaf case 1. The lubricating oil overflows from the opening section of the tub 30 and flows into a tub 31 over the partition 33 between both tubs 30 and 31. The lubricating oil in the tub 31 flows into a carrier 5 from a hole 31a. Thus, the stay of the lubricating oil near the opening section of the tub 30 and the agitation by the agear 41 are prevented. As a result, the abnormal temperature rise of the lubricating oil can be controlled.
