Abstract

PURPOSE: To improve the power transmission efficiency with a less loss in the agitation of lubricant of gears by providing a cover between a bearing and gears to prevent the scattrings of a lubricant drained from the bearing in a gear box in which at least a pair of gears are provided above an oil sump through the bearing.
CONSTITUTION: In a gear box 13 designed to support gears 17 with a bearing 15, a cover 16 is mounted securely on the side wall of a gear box 13 with a screw 14 or the like to prevent the outflow from the bearing 15 jutted thereinto. If a lubricant flows out into the gear box while being fed to the bearing from a feeder not illustrated, it is caught with the cover 16 and introduced outside via holes 18 and 19 after guided downward. The lubricant drained out of the gear box 13 is guided downward through an oil recovery cover 20 and led out via the hole 19 likewise. This can prevent the lubricant from contacting the gears 17 as drained from the bearing 15 thereby reducing the loss in the agitation thereof.
