Abstract
PURPOSE:To improve the discharge characteristics of a battery, by using the mixture of solid fluorocarbon and solid fluorinated graphite (C2F)n partially having carbon-carbon double bonds as the positive active material of a nonaqueous electrolyte battery in which a light metal negative electrode is used. CONSTITUTION:In a case 1, there are a disk like compression-molded positive elecrode 5, a separator 7 and a liquid-holding medium 8; a lithium disc acting as a light metal negative electrode is pressed to touch the inside surface of a sealing plate 3. The case 1 is sealed hermetically by interposing a sealing gasket 9 between the case 1 and this sealing plate 3 to form a thin nonaqueous electrolyte battery. This positive electrode 5 is formed by mixing a solid state active material expressed by the formula (CF)n acting as the active material with a solid fluorinated graphite expressed by the formula (C2F)n partially having carbon- carbon double bonds. The mixture ratio of (CF)n/(C2F)n is preferred to be 100/ 10-100/100 by weight.
