PURPOSE:To make wire extending work executable while maintaining tension always within a set value by calculating the tension of conductors from the wrapping angle of a keep pulley for wire extension and the load that it receives and controlling wire extending speed by a hydraulic pump. CONSTITUTION:A hydraulic pump 13 is driven by a capstan 4 and a small chain gear 9 operated cooperatively by a chain 11, and the oil pressure is transmitted through a relief valve 14 to a pressure regulating servovalve 16. A keep pulley 28 near the capstan 4 is moved vertically by tension, and a load detecting element 29 detects pressure, and a turning angle sensor 35 detects the vertical movement of a turning frame 31. The tension is calculated by a calculator 6. The rotations of the gear 9 are displayed in a power distribution control panel 2, and the upper limit of the speed is limited by the set pressure of the relief valve 14. If the speed is too low, the set pressure is raised by a motor 19 and a pump 17. Reference tension is stored in the calculator 6, and is compared with the results of the above-mentioned calculation, thence the speed of the capstan 4 is controlled by the servovalve 16, the relief valve 14, and the pump 13. Thereby, the wire is extended under the set tension.
