Abstract
PURPOSE:To produce a spliter having reduced dead volume with simple structure, by inserting a second tube into first tube of a spliter and constructing such that the flow-out liquid passing at the outside of the second tube is guided to third tube. CONSTITUTION:The first tube 1 for carrying the flow-out liquid A from a liquid chromatograph and second tube 2 for carrying the flow-out liquid to the ion source are coupled coaxially by means of a tubular member 3, where the first and second tubes 1 and 2 are inserted respectively from one and the other ends of the tubular member 3. The outer-diameter of the second tube is made smaller than the inner diameter of the first tube and the leading edge of the tube 2 is inserted into the tube 1. Consequently the flow-out liquid carried through the tube 1 is divided into two one of which will pass through the tube 2 while the other will pass at the outside of the tube 2. A spacer 4 is provided for the purpose to match the outer-diameter of the tube 2 with the inner diameter of the tubular member 3. Consequently the dead volume at the spliter section can be made almost zero.
